PACUCOA awards CIT as institution with the highest number of accredited programs in Region 7

For the fourth time since 2009 and for three straight years, the Philippine Association of
Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) has awarded Cebu Institute of
Technology – University as the member-school with the highest number of accredited programs in
Region 7. Nationwide, CIT is the PACUCOA-member school with the 4th highest number of
accredited programs.

Currently, 80% of the total 25 undergraduate program offerings are already PACUCOA-accredited.
Eleven are with level II reaccredited status – four programs (BSCS, BSBA, BEED, BSED) will undergo
level III accreditation in February 2014 while the rest (BSChE, BSCE, BSECE, BSME, BSIT, BSA,
BSPsych) are set for 2017. Meanwhile, nine programs (BSCpE, BSEE, BSIE, BSArch, BSN, BSBio,
BSMath, BPA, AB) were granted level I formal accredited status and are scheduled for level II
reaccreditation in 2016.

The awards were conferred in connection with the celebration of PACUCOA’s 40th founding year
and 24th Annual General Assembly. The awarding ceremonies were held at the Century Park Hotel,
Manila on December 6, 2013.
