Brian Lapinid, a fifth year B.S. Electrical Engineering student of Cebu Institute of Technology, emerged champion in the 4th Gullas Inter-collegiate Oratorical Contest held at the Inday Pining Teatro, University of the Visayas Main campus on January 11, 2010.

This is CIT’s second championship in the four years that the event was held. CIT was the champion in 2007, and 2nd runner-up in 2006.

Lapinid defeated seven other competing schools in Cebu City with his superb diction and striking presence. He received ten thousand pesos in cash, a medal, and a trophy.

Dr. Alexander Delantar, assisted by Mrs. Rosemarie Ibona, coached Lapinid and likewise received three thousand pesos.

University of San Jose-Recoletos and St. Theresa’s College came in second and third, respectively.
