Batch ’82 Hosts Symposium on Career Prospects in time with their Coral Reunion
The CIT Alumni Batch 1982 hosted a valuable talk on career prospecting to the graduating students of the university last July 29 in the CIT auditorium. The group which was composed of professionals with varied career backgrounds shared their own experiences and tips to future alumni as they enter the work force and make an impact in and for the country.
The program started with a presentation centered on global trends and the Philippines’ economic landscape. The Batch’s president and first presenter, Mr. Ramonito Tampos, was the best person to discuss the topic as he is currently holding a high position in one of the country’s top pharmaceutical company. The next part of the program was started with a focus on encouraging each student to be WINNERs (W- Work with a Purpose, I- Insist on Integrity, N- Never Make Excuses, N – Never Stop Learning, E – Economize Time and Energy, and R – Resolve to Stick with It), not LOSERs (L – Leaves Everything to Chance, O – Only Good in Promises and Excuses, S – Selfish, E – Error-prone Individual, R – Readily Gives Up). The speaker was Department of Transportation Assistant Secretary Arnold Fabellar, CIT CE department alumnus. Engr. Fabellar later on discussed about the projects that are due to be implemented in the province. These developments include the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), the third and fourth Mactan Bridge, the Cebu circumferential road, and the Automated Guideway Transit (AGT). An open forum followed after the two presentations.
The talks brought delight to the students not just because they are now better informed about the opportunities before them but in knowing that CIT University graduates are making and will continue to make a difference in the country and the world.
