Cebu Institute of Technology Hosts Consultative Forum and Workshop for the Proposed Policies, Standards and Guidelines for the Electronics Engineering Curriculum
The Professional Regulatory Board of Electronics Engineering of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), in cooperation with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Technical Panel for Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineers of the Philippines Foundation and Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) conducted a Consultative Forum and Workshop for the Proposed Policies, Standards and Guidelines for the Electronics Engineering Curriculum in the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Golden Gear Function Room. The university was chosen to host the Visayas leg of this nation-wide forum last July 28, 2017.
The afternoon’s discussions included: the capability roadmap of the electronics engineering profession, an update on the ECE curriculum, and the ASEAN and global perspective on ICT/telecommunications. After the individual discussions, a forum was conducted to get the feedback of the attending stakeholders, which include engineering professionals from the industry and the academe, on the propositions presented by the PRC.
Present were the following: Dr. Alnar L. Detalla, Chairman of the Professional Regulatory Board of Electronics Engineering, with members Hon. Enrico C. Delmoro and Hon. Herminio J. Orbe, Engr. Romulo R. Agatep, President ECEP Foundation, Engr. Aurora A. Rubio, Former President of IECEP, Engr. Ornan S. Vicente, Vice President ECEP Foundation, Engr. Santos Cuervo, BOD of IECEP-Cebu Chapter, Engr. Leopoldo Q. Din, Governor of IECEP-Cebu Chapter, and Engr. Julius D. Sederiosa, who was the master of the ceremony. The event wouldn’t have been a success without the support of Engr. Susana Tan, Chair of the CIT-University ECE department and treasurer of IECEP-Cebu Chapter, and our president Engr. Bernard Nicolas Villamor, who were also present during the activity.
