CIT – University Starts Elementary and High School Students Early on Robotics Technology Learning

CIT – University Starts Elementary and High School Students Early on Robotics Technology Learning will be made more fun for our Elementary and Junior High School Students through fun, enjoyable, and interactive robots which were tested today in the Intelligence Systems Laboratory in the Science and Technology building. This is a deliberate step of the university to truly ingrain in the students the love and passion for Science and Technology at an early age. Our students from the College of Computer Studies, together with IT Department Chair Dr. Larmie Feliscuzo and CCS faculty Dr. Chris Jordan Aliac, set-up the MBots from Makeblock and were presented to Mrs. Genabel Patrimonio, Elementary Department Principal, and Dr. Raniza Romero, Junior High School Department Principal. These child-friendly robots can encourage children to unleash their imagination and develop logical thinking through simple drag and drop programming blocks. Another set of Fischertechnik robots were also turned over to the Junior High School Department for the use of their Physics class. This will provide students with visual demonstration to facilitate understanding of certain scientific theories. This is just the first of the many investments that the University are and will be making to facilitate technology-aided learning across all of its departments and programs. CIT – University will be joining the International Youth Day Celebration tomorrow at the Cebu City Hall.
