CIT University Teams Win in Robotics Cup Sumobot Category

Two teams from CIT University won awards in the Sumobot Category in the Robotics Cup by Compass Education last November 11 and 12 at SM Seaside. Team Crixalis which is composed of Senior High students Ryan Solis and Mel Jay Llanos emerged as champion, while Team Genesis with Lionelle Diaz (SHS-STEM) and Richvan Lemuel Abadilla (BSME-4) won third place.

Despite being new in this arena, our teams still proved that they can build and strategize winning pieces even at a very limited time. Another team won in the Growing City Solutions category (see separate post for details), showing our great potential in producing winners in this field.

Our other teams who were not able to make it to the top three were also able to produce highly-creative inventions despite being neophytes and relatively young (Junior High School and Elementary) compared to other competitors. We are positive that these youngsters, given proper training and support from mentors and the CIT University administration, shall soon emerge as victors in the ever-evolving field of Robotics.

We also applaud the following coaches for their hardwork:
Elementary: Eric R. Villarin, Loreime Ann B. Rosario,
High School: James O. Libron, Jorenda P. Sasuman
College: Chris Jordan Aliac, Eugene Busico, Larmie Feliscuzo

Corazon Evangelista-Valencia (Vice President for Academic Affairs), Mr. John Gregory B. Escario (Vice President for Administration), Engr. Bernard Nicolas E. Villamor (University President), Engr. Alona Solis (Assistant to the Principal, Senior High), and Dr. Larmie Feliscuzo (Chair, Information Technology Department).
