BS Computer Science Program
The BS Computer Science program is the study of computing concepts and theories; algorithmic foundations; and new developments in computing. The program prepares students to design and create algorithmically complex software; and develop new and effective algorithms for solving computing problems. The program also includes the study of the standards and practices in Software Engineering; and prepares students to acquire skills and disciplines required for designing, writing and modifying software components, modules and applications that comprise software solutions.
Program Educational Objectives
- Graduates will be competent professionals with an integrated understanding of computing systems, processes, and the main body of knowledge of information technology as a whole. They will be engaged in IT-related careers such as IT specialists, web/applications developer, network/systems/database administrator in private practice, academe, industry, or government.
- Graduates will be capable of engaging in life-long learning activities relevant to their profession, including earning advanced degrees or completing professional training.
- Graduates will be capable of exhibiting professionalism in working individually or as a member/leader of a team; communicating effectively; and meeting the social and ethical responsibilities of their profession.
