The Athletics Department, through its athletics program strives to create an environment that challenges student-athletes to reach their full academic and athletics potential. The Athletics office plans, organizes and implements the sports program of the school through recruitment and training of varsity athletes to represent CIT in various local and national competitions.

The school endeavors to inculcate a strong work ethics, leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, and service to the student athletes
The program is intended to foster strong relationship and camaraderie among the student body and offers a rallying point for the campus, alumni, and community.

Hereunder are the programs that the Department envisions to provide the students:
The Department supports the student development initiatives and enhances the quality of the student-athlete experience within the school. It supports the student-athlete’s development in the following:

1. Academic Excellence
It focuses on the enhancement of academic performance through the development of study habits and communication skills through tutoring and mentoring. Academic performance is monitored as requirement for CESAFI and as eligibility for graduation.

2. Personal Development
It provides the necessary information needed when tackling the topics and challenges facing today’s student-athlete. This covers such topics as to what it is like being a student-athlete at CIT, social development, and personal health. Information is provided to make the student-athletes realize its value that will benefit them well after their time at CIT.

3. Community Involvement
Part of student-athletes college life is the opportunity to give back to the campus and local communities what they have learned. Community outreach offers student-athletes opportunities to begin a lifelong habit of service by participating in a variety of ways, especially during summer when they are tasked to involve themselves in basic skills training of would be athletes in local areas. They are also made to actively participate in charitable events that are aimed at helping the less fortunate people in their locale.

4. Career Development
It assists student-athletes to identify career goals and help them with job interview and job search skills. It also provides assistance in preparation for graduate study.
